Michael Wong Guang Liang, a Malaysian singer-cum-composer who has gained much popularity globally and earned numerous accolades from Malaysia, Taiwan, China as well as Hong Kong, will be staging a one-night only concert at the Arena of Stars, Genting - City of Entertainment in January 2008.
Guang Liang started his career in a duo with Victor Wong (Pin Guan). The pair had attained notable success in the music scene in Taiwan until they parted ways amicably in 2000. To-date, Guang Liang has released five solo albums comprising Michael's First Album (Dì Yī Cì Gè Rén Chuàng Zuò Zhuān Jí), Ray of Light (Guāng Máng), Fairy Tale (Tóng Huà), a breakthrough album, Commitment (Yuē Dìng) and his latest album Never Apart (Bu Huī Fēn Lī) which was launched on 6 November 2007.
In 2006, Guang Liang was appointed as Tourism Malaysia's ambassador and made it into the Malaysia Book of Records as the Malaysian Chinese Male Composer with the highest number of awards and for Fairy Tale (Tóng Huà) album's achievement, being the Best-Selling Chinese Album. Guang Liang made another breakthrough in the music scene in HK in one of the top famous record company in Hong Kong- AMUSIC, a company open by HK pop Star, Leon Lai.. as well in HK, he was given the opportunity to stage his very own solo concert at the famous Hong Kong Coliseum in March 2006, making him the first Malaysian singer to hold a concert there. In the beginning of 2008, Guang Liang will be back to his homeland, Malaysia to stage a live concert. Joining him as his guest artistes are Maggie Chiang from Taiwan, and the group Boy Frenz, consisting of members from Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines. Grab your tickets fast!
